The educational program ‘The sky’s the limit’ is designed to be entertaining, emancipatory, and educational, offering adults aged 54 and over the opportunity to delve into the world of film beyond traditional cinema or TV viewing and creative experiences. Participants engage in workshops where they explore film and media from multiple perspectives, uncovering aspects often overlooked during movie or TV watching, or while enjoying computer games on computers, tablets, or smartphones. They study new media and experiment with the same media tools and content enjoyed by their children or grandchildren. Through a layered, dynamic, and interdisciplinary process of familiarizing themselves with various media and technical aids, participants have fun, forge new friendships, collaborations, and business opportunities, share their stories and interests with fellow participants, and, guided by expert facilitators, create their authentic film works.

At the introductory level, participants engage in simple and direct ways, using dramatic play to discover and remember stories from Plato’s cave and the prehistory of film to meta-film (films about film!). Through perceptual and film exercises and examples, they become aware of the ‘F-effect’ and the eye’s slowness that make film possible, connecting other human creative endeavors with film and media – such as dance, modeling, painting, acting, writing, sculpture, etc. – and critically analyze presented anthological or latest film and/or media works from various perspectives. All under the motto: What we do not see when consuming film, TV, and media content.
