Good Practices of Media Literacy for Youth:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Club Zona<\/strong><\/a>, a two-day event titled “Good Practices of Media Literacy for Youth” will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 25th and 26th, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The program on both days will include exchanges of examples of good practices. All interested individuals, especially representatives of educational institutions and organizations seeking ways to promote media literacy among young people, are invited to participate.<\/p>\n

Boris Bakal<\/strong><\/a> and Zvonimir Be\u0161li\u0107 from the Shadow Casters association will explain how to teach media literacy using film art and present guidelines developed through the .MOV project for elementary and high schools. Kristina Te\u0161ija from the KLFM association will introduce the Radio School and the concept of community radio, while Vesna Vujevi\u0107 from the University of Split will explain how young people create programs for Radio Kampus. Tea Radi\u0107 and Marina Le\u017eaja from the Slatine Elementary School will present the project “Voice from Slatine Heard Far Away,” implemented as part of the CIMAJ Center of Excellence of the Split-Dalmatia County.<\/p>\n

Jasna Veji\u0107 from the Mentor association will discuss the influence of media on the mental health of children and young people and plans for parental education. Romana Ban from Split Tech City will address the consumption of written content by young people, whether it makes sense to create it, and how. At the end of the first day’s program, there will be an informal meeting with the Youth Council of the City of Split to discuss the importance of media literacy in the context of informing young people.<\/p>\n

The event is held as part of the “Media Education is Important (.MOV)” project. The project is implemented by a consortium of 11 Croatian organizations and institutions: Gong, Pragma, Telecentar, Kurziv – Platform for Culture, Media, and Society, Society for Communication and Media Culture, Baca\u010di sjenki, Children’s Creative Center DOKKICA, Info zona<\/strong><\/a>, Center for Culture and Lifelong Education Zlatna vrata, Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.<\/p>\n
