The Shadow Casters, as part of their program “Frooom! on the Road,” participated in the work of the General Assembly of ECFA, the European Children’s Film Association, which took place at the end of February 2023 in Berlin, as part of the Berlin International Film Festival. Representing the Shadow Casters at the assembly were Veno Mu\u0161inovi\u0107, director and filmmaker, lecturer at the Shadow Casters’ Frooom! School of Media and Film Literacy, and a long-time collaborator on BS’s film, performance, and educational projects, as well as Boris Bakal, co-founder of the Shadow Casters, director, and multimedia artist.<\/p>\n

The Shadow Casters have been active members of ECFA for many years, being among the first from Croatia. Membership and participation in ECFA activities have brought the Shadow Casters various collaborations and concrete projects that are still ongoing. One of the organization’s strategic priorities at this meeting was the development of a curriculum for conducting informal educational programs in media and film literacy. Participation in the assembly meeting was an excellent opportunity to explore possible collaborations and network with other ECFA members regarding curriculum development and the internationalization of the Frooom! program.<\/p>\n

At the assembly meeting, annual awards were presented to films showcased by ECFA network film festivals, and the Film Workshop Fair was announced for July this year at the Cinema Ritrovato film festival in Bologna.<\/p>\n
