From <strong data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2394\">1965 to 1982<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"2400\" data-end=\"2446\">Workers&#8217; People&#8217;s University \u201cMo\u0161a Pijade\u201d<\/strong> hosted a Film Club where numerous world films had their Croatian premieres. This is where films such as <em data-start=\"2551\" data-end=\"2562\">Repulsion<\/em> by Roman Polanski, <em data-start=\"2582\" data-end=\"2598\">The Confession<\/em> by Costa-Gavras and Yves Montand, <em data-start=\"2633\" data-end=\"2647\">The Tin Drum<\/em> by Volker Schl\u00f6ndorff, but also <em data-start=\"2680\" data-end=\"2689\">Olympia<\/em> by Leni Riefenstahl and early experimental and documentary works by Karpo Godina, were first screened in Zagreb.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2804\" data-end=\"4098\"><strong data-start=\"2804\" data-end=\"2819\">Biographies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2804\" data-end=\"4098\"><strong data-start=\"2822\" data-end=\"2842\">Sandra Uskokovi\u0107<\/strong> is an art historian specializing in modern and contemporary art of Central and Eastern Europe and is an <strong data-start=\"2947\" data-end=\"2970\">Associate Professor<\/strong> at the University of Dubrovnik. She earned her Master\u2019s degree from George Washington University (USA) and a PhD from the University of Zagreb. She has worked as a research associate at international institutions such as ICCROM, UNESCO, and US\/ICOMOS, and has received prestigious research grants and awards, including those from the Graham Foundation, the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, and Getty Trust. She is the author of four books dedicated to modern architecture and heritage as well as art in public and shared urban spaces. She has published numerous scholarly articles and participated in many national and international conferences. As a visiting lecturer, she has taught at universities across Europe, Asia, and North America. Her research interests include art criticism, architecture, cultural heritage, modern and contemporary art, urban and cultural theory, and performance art. She is a member of the International ICOMOS Committee on Modern Heritage and the International Committee of the College Art Association of New York. Since 2013, she has been an active member of the artistic platform <strong data-start=\"4079\" data-end=\"4097\">Shadow Casters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4100\" data-end=\"4983\"><strong data-start=\"4100\" data-end=\"4119\">Stanko Juzba\u0161i\u0107<\/strong> \u2013 After completing studies in <strong data-start=\"4150\" data-end=\"4215\">electrical engineering and Portuguese language and literature<\/strong>, he graduated from the University of Zagreb in 1983. As a <strong data-start=\"4274\" data-end=\"4295\">Fulbright scholar<\/strong>, he studied algorithmic composition at <strong data-start=\"4335\" data-end=\"4400\">Columbia University Department of Music in New York (1996\u201397)<\/strong>. As an independent artist, he has composed for over 80 stage, concert, and museum-gallery performances\/installations throughout prestigious venues in Croatia and Europe, earning numerous awards and recognitions. He has written several open-source music education software programs, which are used at several U.S. universities. He collaborates on projects aimed at preserving Croatian 20th-century musical heritage. He is a member of the <strong data-start=\"4838\" data-end=\"4885\">Croatian Association of Independent Artists<\/strong>. With <strong data-start=\"4892\" data-end=\"4910\">Shadow Casters<\/strong>, he has collaborated on over 100 projects across more than 20 countries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4985\" data-end=\"5554\"><strong data-start=\"4985\" data-end=\"5006\">Boris Cvjetanovi\u0107<\/strong> graduated from the Pedagogical Academy in Zagreb \u2013 Art Department. He worked as a <strong data-start=\"5089\" data-end=\"5101\">restorer<\/strong> at the <strong data-start=\"5109\" data-end=\"5144\">Croatian Conservation Institute<\/strong>, and later became a <strong data-start=\"5165\" data-end=\"5194\">professional photographer<\/strong>. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world (Croatia, Europe, USA, Japan, Australia\u2026). He is the recipient of several prestigious awards (1st Tokyo International Photo-Biennale \u201995 in Japan, Grand Prix at the Croatian Photography \u201997 exhibition, Homo Volans Award \u201997) and is the author of the book <em data-start=\"5524\" data-end=\"5553\">Scenes Without Significance<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5556\" data-end=\"6179\"><strong data-start=\"5556\" data-end=\"5571\">Boris Bakal<\/strong> is a <strong data-start=\"5577\" data-end=\"5717\">creative producer, theatre and film director, actor, intermedia artist, social and cultural activist, interdisciplinary public historian<\/strong>, and head of the international artistic platform <strong data-start=\"5767\" data-end=\"5785\">Shadow Casters<\/strong>. Over more than forty years of his career, he has created various projects presented and\/or produced by festivals and events in over 20 countries around the world. Since 2001, he has led the <strong data-start=\"5977\" data-end=\"5995\">Shadow Casters<\/strong>, an international artistic platform that has received numerous awards and recognition in Croatia and abroad, and in 2011 he founded the <strong data-start=\"6132\" data-end=\"6143\">Frooom!<\/strong> film school for children and youth.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6181\" data-end=\"6856\">The <strong data-start=\"6185\" data-end=\"6210\">Urboglyphs\u2013Urboth\u00e8que<\/strong> project is supported by the <strong data-start=\"6239\" data-end=\"6257\">City of Zagreb<\/strong> through the \u201cCulture and Art in the Community\u201d program, in partnership with the <strong data-start=\"6338\" data-end=\"6363\">Zagreb City Libraries<\/strong> (DK \u201cMarin Dr\u017ei\u0107\u201d, GK \u201cIvana Gorana Kova\u010di\u0107a\u201d, GK \u201cSavica\u201d), <strong data-start=\"6425\" data-end=\"6484\">Zagreb Center for Independent Culture and Youth \u2013 Pogon<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6486\" data-end=\"6528\">State Archives \u2013 Croatian Cinematheque<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6530\" data-end=\"6563\">Zagreb Public Open University<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6565\" data-end=\"6610\">Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6612\" data-end=\"6638\">Local Committee Savica<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6640\" data-end=\"6655\">Zagreb Film<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"6661\" data-end=\"6676\">Jadran Film<\/strong>, and invites interested citizens and professionals to engage through workshops, panels, film screenings, Open Offices, lectures, urban tours, and film shoots and AV installations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6858\" data-end=\"7027\">More about the entire \u201c<strong data-start=\"6881\" data-end=\"6906\">Urboglyphs\u2013Urboth\u00e8que<\/strong>\u201d program: <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/bacaci-sjenki.hr\/projekti\/urboglifi-urboteka\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"6917\" data-end=\"7027\">https:\/\/bacaci-sjenki.hr\/projekti\/urboglifi-urboteka\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7029\" data-end=\"7330\">Project participants include, among others, <strong data-start=\"7073\" data-end=\"7252\">Goran Trbuljak, Damir Radi\u0107, Bojana Burna\u0107, Nikica Gili\u0107, Jadran Boban, Sandra Uskokovi\u0107, Nikola Stra\u0161ek, Sara Simi\u0107, Iva Rosandi\u0107, Leo Vukeli\u0107, Stanko Juzba\u0161i\u0107, Sa\u0161a Vojkovi\u0107<\/strong>, as well as numerous <strong data-start=\"7274\" data-end=\"7329\">citizens, students, pupils, and teachers from Trnje<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7332\" data-end=\"7455\">The project was conceptualized and coordinated by <strong data-start=\"7382\" data-end=\"7397\">Boris Bakal<\/strong>, and the project design was created by <strong data-start=\"7437\" data-end=\"7454\">Ivan Klisuri\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7457\" data-end=\"8238\"><strong data-start=\"7457\" data-end=\"7475\">Shadow Casters<\/strong> are a <strong data-start=\"7482\" data-end=\"7566\">multi-award-winning and acclaimed international artistic and production platform<\/strong> for interdisciplinary collaboration, creativity, and exploration of intermedia arts. They successfully weave together international cooperation, film, theatre performances, urban intermedia projects, activism, educational work, video art, and curatorial practice into a unified artistic activity. Over their 19 years of work and public engagement, they have completed <strong data-start=\"7935\" data-end=\"7989\">over 500 professional international collaborations<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"7991\" data-end=\"8048\">90 educational, theatre, and film projects and events<\/strong>.
