Shadowcasters<\/strong> and Frooom! Film School<\/strong> have prepared another workshop to say goodbye to summer and wrap up the holidays. The animation workshop<\/strong> will be held in Zagreb from August 25th to 29th<\/strong>, led by Marino Paliska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During this five-day workshop<\/strong>, participants will explore the exciting history of animation and animation toys<\/strong>, discovering various techniques and processes that have shaped this art form. Under expert guidance, they will have the opportunity to create their own story, shoot and animate a film, edit it, and prepare it for final post-production (if all stages are not completed within the five days, the project will be prepared for later finishing).<\/p>\n

The workshop is designed to offer participants hands-on experience in creating an animated film<\/strong> \u2013 from idea to finished product. In this way, they will develop creativity<\/strong>, teamwork<\/strong>, and technical skills<\/strong>, while also gaining insight into the rich tradition of animation<\/strong> as well as modern digital art tools<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

About the Workshop Leader \u2013 Marino Paliska<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marino Paliska<\/strong> is a visual and multimedia artist, cinematographer, animator, and filmmaker<\/strong> with extensive experience in short film, animation, and motion design. He graduated in film, media arts, and animation from the Arts Academy in Split<\/strong>, earning both a bachelor\u2019s<\/strong> and master\u2019s degree<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He has worked professionally as a motion designer at Studio Rut<\/strong>, creating promotional animations, 3D scenes, and visual concepts, as well as a cameraman for Mre\u017ea TV<\/strong>. His films “Pandula” (2019)<\/strong> and “The Hare and the Rooster” (2023)<\/strong> have been screened and awarded at national festivals, including the Pula Film Festival<\/strong> and KRAF<\/strong>, with “The Hare and the Rooster”<\/em> being co-financed by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre<\/strong>. He also took part in the international Motovun Campus<\/strong> program and is a long-time member of Kinoklub Zagreb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As both author and collaborator, he has worked across various segments of film and audiovisual production \u2013 from directing, screenwriting, and editing to sound and photography<\/strong>. He is proficient in a wide range of software tools (Blender, Unreal Engine, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop<\/strong>, etc.), making him a versatile mentor<\/strong> capable of introducing workshop participants to both traditional and contemporary forms of animation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to filmmaking, Marino is also active in photography and graphic design<\/strong>, further expanding his artistic practice and visual sensibility.<\/p>\n
