On May 5 at 5:00 PM, in the exhibition hall of the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum<\/a> in Zagreb, Shadow Casters will ceremonially inaugurate the \u201cInstitute for the Remains of the Future\u201d \u2014 an institution for public use and for the forensic recording of traces, questions, shadows, archives, unfinished conversations, misfiled promises, and conflicting futures which, for reasons of unknown optimism, have already begun.<\/p>\n

The Institute is not temporary. As long as the remains of the future persist, so does the Institute \u2014 however much time we may have left.<\/p>\n

After 25 years of work, Shadow Casters, in their consistent unreliability of narration, do not open a retrospective, but inaugurate a space in which what remains of past and future attempts can be re-exhibited, read, contested, used, misunderstood, and perhaps transformed into a new shared situation.<\/p>\n

The programme of the Institute will take place throughout the month of May in four blocks:

\nMay 26\u201330 (11:00\u201319:00)<\/p>\n

Every Friday, from 16:45 to 19:00, a workshop on documenting and mockumenting by Shadow Casters will be held.<\/p>\n

As the announcement of a serious institution should not be exhausted on the first day, and as the future does not tolerate an excess of explanation at once, special events, conversations, performances, encounters, workshops, interventions, film programmes, and other possible (non)occasions will be announced separately, each with its own rules.<\/p>\n

The Institute programme is realised in collaboration with: Ivan Klisuri\u0107, Boris Vukovi\u0107, Stanko Juzba\u0161i\u0107, Leo Vukeli\u0107, Bojana Burna\u0107, Maru\u0161ka Aras, Sandra Uskokovi\u0107, Viktorija Pilon, Vi\u0161nja \u017dugi\u0107, Zvonimir Be\u0161li\u0107, Anja Pletikosa, Tomislav Krstanovi\u0107, Veno Mu\u0161inovi\u0107, Boris Be\u0161tak, Mladen Hrvoje Ili\u0107, Boris Bakal, and many others.<\/p>\n

The programme is organised in collaboration with the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, Savska cesta 18, Zagreb.<\/p>\n

Project partners: MOTS Gallery Trnjanska Savica<\/a>, Student Centre Zagreb<\/a>, Croatian School Museum<\/a>, Faculty of Science (Department of Geology)<\/a>, Jadran Film<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \u201cInstitute for the Remains of the Future\u201d is supported by: the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb \u2013 Office for Culture and Civil Society.<\/p>\n

Shadow Casters are supported by: Erasmus+; HAVC; the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth; the Agency for Electronic Media; the Croatian Audiovisual Authors\u2019 and Producers\u2019 Association; Primorje-Gorski Kotar County; the City of Split; the City of Koprivnica; the City of Rijeka; and part of the programme is implemented through the Clubture network, supported by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development and Kultura Nova Foundation.
