Directory of organizations in the field of media education

At the conclusion of the project “Media Education Matters.MOV”, co-financed by the European Social Fund, in which the Association Shadow Casters is a partner organization, we present a directory of organizations active in the field of media literacy and media education that project partners identified based on research.

According to the findings of the survey, Croatia has a well-developed scene of actors – mostly civil society organizations – primarily or partially engaged in some form of media education or contributing to media literacy, either in formal or non-formal educational contexts. The list of organizations and basic information about their media education activities is available HERE.

The list is neither complete nor final, and in the future, it will be supplemented with other actors who contribute to the knowledge and skills of media education for the young, the elderly, those in between, those in front of TV sets, with newspapers in their hands, or those who produce, edit, and distribute content for social media.

However, this scene does not change the fact that systematic engagement in media education is a question of the stability of multi-year, programmatic – not just project-based – support for civil society organizations, which often offer some of the richest, most innovative, and consistently best-valued media education activities in their activity repertoires.
