“Vitić Dances” Film in (Post)Production

The restoration of the Vitić Skyscraper (the National Bank residential block – a protected cultural monument of Croatia) is currently underway, funded by the Monument Protection Fund. This is the largest collaborative effort between the City of Zagreb and the co-owners of a residential-commercial building in Croatia, and the most significant conservation and preservation initiative in the Republic of Croatia since World War II.

In 2004, Shadow Casters initiated the valorization project of the Vitić Skyscraper, spurred the process of its protection, and, together with the co-owners, launched the renovation project. On the initiative of Shadow Casters, the building’s elevators were repaired and replaced in 2009 under a special financial regime. Since the inception of this initiative, Shadow Casters have been filming a documentary about the process of protection, renovation, and encouragement of creative use of this cultural resource of the City of Zagreb and Croatia. Since 2013, the filming of this documentary has been supported by the City of Zagreb Office for Education, Culture and Sport, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, and the EU MEDIA Program.
