We are pleased to invite you to attend the final event of the project “If Buildings Could Talk” next week (Tuesday 19.12, 2017.) at the premises of the Gallery Greta in Zagreb (address: Ilica Str. 92): SMARTER CITY – workshop, conference, public talk.
The event includes a presentation of the entire project and project activities so far done in Skopje, Belgrade and Zagreb from 11 am to 1 pm and a Pitching Forum for the new ideas on Smarter City from 3 to 4.30 pm. Pitching forum is open to all audiences and members of all communities and social strata but each pitch is limited to 10 minutes.
At 4.30 pm a wrap-up talk will be held and few documentary videos of the project “If the buildings/spaces could talk” will be presented.
“If buildings could talk” (IBCT) is a collaborative project that unfolds the delicate, inner traces of the erasure of collective memory from the local history, exemplified through concrete urban spaces (buildings and their surroundings) which are/were landmarks in one city/area. This obliteration leads towards almost unrecognizable change of the local context affecting entire communities and various social strata as well as the overall urban tissue. IBCT attempts to speak creatively and interdisciplinary about local urban problems, sometimes relating to a single building or block – business or residential – in three different cities: Skopje, initiated by the partner FRU – Faculty of Things that Can’t Be Learned, Belgrade with the partner Supervizuelna and Zagreb with the partner Shadow Casters.
With warm regards,
Sandra Uskoković, Boris Bakal
