We were pleased to participate in the Unique Garden Party Vol. 7!

As part of the party, on Sunday, June 11th, in the small hall of POGON, we watched and discussed the Bulgarian film Shelter from the CinEd collection. Discussion leaders: Ivana Šešlek, CinEd project manager in Croatia, and Hana Juranović, educator and collaborator on all Bacači sjenki projects.

The film “Shelter” is the work of Bulgarian director Dragomir Sholev, who interestingly portrays the story of 12-year-old Radi and his relationship with his parents after an inexplicable weekend escape. In addition to watching the film, the workshop included a practical component aimed at developing critical and analytical skills, understanding the language of film, and fostering curiosity about the world and others.

CinEd 2.1 “Let’s Watch Together” is an educational European project that facilitates the teaching of children and young people about film and through film for teachers, professors, and cultural mediators. The project involves 12 European countries, with the artistic association Shadow Casters as the partner in Croatia.

If you missed the workshop, don’t worry, because we have many more screenings and interesting discussions planned!

The next screening will be held on Thursday, June 15th, in collaboration with the KinoKino film program for children. The Portuguese classic Aniki Bóbó, directed by Manoel De Oliveira, will be shown, a film that has won the hearts of many generations with its universal message about the importance of friendship and the adventures of growing up.

In addition to the film screening, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in a dynamic discussion and workshop program led by film director and educator Mia Maros Živković. On this occasion, they will learn more about understanding film techniques and the language of film, develop critical and analytical skills, and encourage curiosity and openness to the world and others!

The program will take place on Thursday, June 15th, starting at 6:00 PM at the Tuškanac Cinema, lasting approximately 120 minutes (screening and discussion), and the film will be shown in its original language with Croatian subtitles.

The workshop is free and intended for young people aged 6 and older, but anyone who feels interested is welcome to join us.
