We’ve wrapped up Frooom! in Velika Gorica – take a look at how it all went

We have reached the end of the autumn film cycle held in Velika Gorica. FROOOM!’s film waves filled November with creative energy, and after four Saturdays of socializing and creative work, we have come to the end of our autumn workshop.

We used the last Saturday for the diploma ceremony and the presentation of the participants’ films in front of parents and friends.

Instructors of the beginner workshop

Bojana Burnać is a director of photography for fiction, documentary, and experimental short and feature films. She is the first female cinematographer in the history of Croatian cinematography to shoot a feature fiction film. She collaborates with Shadow Casters on film and educational projects and programs.

Tea Šimić is a theatre, television, and film actress, and she also works in dance and singing. She is a co-founder of the Emma theatre troupe and has previously worked with Shadow Casters on projects such as the Frooom! Film School. She is also one of the co-authors of the renowned sensory performance “Ex-pozicija”.

Lucija Kovačević is also a collaborator of Shadow Casters with experience in the Frooom! Film School. Besides her love for film, Lucija is a psychologist who combines her passion for cinema with ensuring that children feel safe, free, and creative during the workshops.

Instructors of the advanced workshop

Dubravka Kurobasa completed her MA and BA in cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. She has also worked as a theatre lighting designer and as a cinematographer on fiction and documentary films. She has collaborated with Shadow Casters since 2014 on the feature documentary film project Vitić pleše, and since 2021 she has been leading film literacy workshops in the Frooom! Film School for children and youth.

Boris Vuković graduated in Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, and previously earned his BA degree in film and television directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb. He began collaborating with Shadow Casters in 2022 as a screenwriter on the innovative online film literacy project for the 54+ generation, Filmski labirint. Since then, he has continued working as one of the instructors of the advanced and master workshops of the Frooom! Film School for children and youth.
