On Thursday, September 8, a free three-day workshop “Storytelling in Glina” begins as part of the “Community Constellations” project. Participants will explore the various stories we can tell, the means by which we tell them, from which perspectives, and why they are important.
We all think we know how to listen, follow, recognize, and understand stories around us, but this workshop will teach participants to tell stories about everything. They will learn methods to transform everyday events and experiences into engaging stories – from stories about their own name, the journey to work or school, scenes outside the window, and more. Each story tells us something about ourselves, our inner world, and how we perceive the world around us. Participants will learn about the diversity of stories and their significance for both the community and individuals.
Join us in a series of workshops conducted in the towns of Glina, Petrinja, and Sisak. Following an excellent cycle of “Local and Famous Stories” where we have hosted Lana Barić, Bojana Burnać, Goran Dević, Jelena Miholjević, Miroslav Kirin, and Siniša Matasović, along with complementary workshops ‘Encounters’ in Sisak, we continue with the second cycle of workshops on the theme of storytelling, this time in Glina. Through these workshops, playrooms, encounters, and creative evenings, we have met many residents of the Sisak-Moslavina County whose stories have enriched us, made us laugh, awakened empathy in us, and, in a way, fostered a sense of unity within the constellation created by life circumstances and everyday life.
Be with us for these three days in the beautiful building of the Croatian Home in Glina.
