Re-Writing the Constitution: A Workshop

The workshop “Re-Writing the Constitution” represented the starting point for building a future theater performance inspired by the current social, political, and economic situation in Cyprus. The act of writing the constitution was used as a tool to raise serious social issues and create the first raw material from the participants’ personal testimonies. Since the format of the constitution is multifaceted by nature and structured in such a way as to contain a set of fundamental principles, it served as an excellent structure for further exploration of this topic. Through this, the participants acted as active citizens, building together their vision of the country they live in, by asking questions, and ultimately arguing and building a common utopia.

The workshop was a collaboration between Omada One/Off (Cyprus), Shadow Casters (Croatia), and Rooftop Theatre Group (Cyprus).
