Our Frooom! team has packed their bags once again and set off for Belgium! From October 27 to November 2, we’re spending the week in Brussels at Filem’On, the international film festival for children and young people. The festival has been bringing together film lovers of all ages for years, inspiring creativity, critical thinking, and opening doors to the world of film art from every corner of the globe.

This year, participants from Zagreb, Rijeka, and SplitViktor Rasol, Vid Klisurić, Mak Peračić, David Marijanović, Maro Lukšić, and Ozren Stojsavljević – are traveling with mentors Mija Zara Burčul and Marin Paliska.

Filem’On isn’t just a film festival – it’s a true cinematic adventure! Alongside feature films, animated works, and documentaries, the program includes workshops and activities designed for children and teenagers up to 16 years old. The films come from all around the world, and many of them are titles you rarely get to see in regular cinemas. A special emphasis is placed on linguistic and cultural diversity – screenings are available in multiple languages with subtitles, making them accessible to young audiences from all backgrounds in multilingual Brussels.

Our Frooom! participants are not just viewers – thanks to a long-term collaboration with Filem’On (dating back to 2020), they’ve had the chance to serve as jury members and even award prizes to the best films for teens.

Beyond the festival itself, Filem’On runs participatory projects throughout the year in cooperation with schools and organizations working with children and young people. These projects allow kids not only to watch films but also to create them, developing their creative, communication, and teamwork skills along the way.

We’ve already immersed ourselves in the festival atmosphere – watching, discussing, exploring, and learning. And how are we enjoying Belgium? Check out the photo gallery to see for yourself!
