EX‑POSITION: REHEARSALS FOR REMEMBRANCE – 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF A CULT THEATER PIECE

Twenty years after it first swept through the Zagreb audience as a sensory, emotional, and philosophical journey through the city and consciousness, Ex-position returns. Not as a conventional performance, but as a performative process of remembrance: a space where the audience steps behind the scenes and witnesses how the performance is being re-examined, reconstructed, deconstructed — and created anew.

For two days, Pogon Jedinstvo becomes a laboratory of memory and performative legacy. Visitors can follow rehearsals of iconic scenes, watch archival footage, listen to testimonies from participants from over 30 countries, take part in open discussions with artists and critics, and — if they wish — even intervene in the creative process.

In this anniversary edition — which also marks the beginning of a wider project on the resources of performance — the original piece is not mechanically reconstructed. Instead, it is re-questioned and re-written through a shared process between performers and audience. Ex-position remains a story about the boundary between watching and acting, about the responsibility of the audience, and about how theatre can be a space of transformation.

How to participate

Each time slot lasts a minimum of 3 to 4 hours; groups of up to 30 people. Multiple registrations (for different time slots) are possible.
