“Corti a Ponte” is an international short film festival characterized by a unique approach dedicated to educating about the art of cinema and actively involving audiences of all ages and social groups. It is unique in Italy for the presence of a large international section dedicated to children and young people, featuring screenings of short films made by children and teenagers from around the world selected for their quality and cultural value.

Among these selections are our films, “Stick Hit The Fan,” a short fiction film from the advanced Frooom! Workshop in Rijeka, and the short animated film “Just Another Day” from the master workshop in Split.

The mentors of these films are award-winning professionals Veno Mušinović and Božidar Trkulja. Both films have won numerous awards and have been presented at many festivals around the world – in the Czech Republic, the USA, Bangladesh, Lithuania, Slovenia, the UK, and elsewhere.

Additionally, on the last day of the festival, May 20th, the educational program coordinators of Shadow Casters, Mia Maros Živković and Ivana Šešlek, as part of the Shadow Casters program “Frooom! Guests” conducted since 2015, will present our programs for film and media literacy for children and youth, as well as professional development programs for teachers, educators, and professors: Frooom!, The Sky’s the Limit, Film Labyrinth, and CinEd.

Shadow Casters (Zagreb, Croatia) is a multiple award-winning and acclaimed international artistic and production platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, creativity, and reflection on intermedial art, which successfully intertwines international cooperation, theatrical performances, urban intermedial projects, activism, pedagogical work, video art, and curatorial practice in comprehensive artistic activities. Since 2002, they have been a leading partner in numerous small and large projects in Europe, Asia, and North America, stimulating discussions about the nature and contradictions of the globalization process, addressing social, political, and cultural issues by revealing acute problems of local communities: politics of public spaces, consequences of transition processes, status and forms of intimacy, as well as systematic production of amnesia and discontinuity. They also thoroughly explore the past, present, and future of critical urban locations and related themes of collective and individual memory, bringing their performances to places and sites that are included in contemporary artistic discourse for the first time.

The work of Shadow Casters is co-financed by: EU Creative Europe-Media program, Erasmus+, National Foundation for Civil Society Development, Culture New Foundation, Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian Audiovisual Center, Cities of Zagreb, Rijeka, and Koprivnica, AEM, DHFR, COST, and many others.
