Written by on 2024-10-08

These days, our Frooom! participants are achieving success after success. This time, it’s about the short experimental live-action film “Moljci,” which was created at the master film workshop in Rijeka in the summer of 2022. The film has so far been presented at the Lantern & Light International Children’s Film Festival in Melbourne and screened in September 2024, ultimately winning the Grand Prix award at the festival.

This October, the film will be presented in Serbia at the 21st International Short Film Festival in Novi Sad – Film Front, which will take place from October 21 to 29, 2024. Notably, this festival is not aimed at children’s films or youth films but showcases renowned emerging filmmakers from around the world. In previous years, films by Croatian filmmakers such as Rino Barbir, David Gašo, Lea Vidaković, David Lovrić, Ivana Bošnjak Volda and Thomas Johnson Volda, Vuk Jevremović, Darko Masnec, Vanja Nikolić, Saša Postić, and Kristina Barišić have been presented.

The International Short Film Festival Film Front was launched in 2003 in Novi Sad, growing out of the Vojvodina Film and Video Festival. Over time, it has developed into a recognized regional event, with a rich accompanying program. The festival pays attention to specific themes and trends and provides education to future filmmakers through workshops.

The film “Moljci” was created by Borna Janežić, Mia Vukanović, Anja Peloza, Dominik Velčić, and Marul Lerga, under the mentorship of film director Dubravka Kurobasa.
