Written by on 2020-10-27

In Pakrac on October 30th, we will present Mario Kovač, a director, actor, writer, producer, musician, DJ, collector, politician, quiz enthusiast, and Doctor of Theatre Arts. As the frontman and co-founder of the independent student theatre group “Šmrc Teatar,” he produced, directed, and acted in over 120 performances, performances, and concert events throughout Croatia and Europe between 1995 and 2001.

Since 2001, with “Nova Grupa,” he has been performing at various experimental and student theatre festivals around the world (Montreal, Tehran, Caracas, Grenoble…). As a professional theatre director, he has created over 80 plays and more than 40 radio dramas and short radio forms, for which he has received numerous awards and accolades. He is a passionate vinyl collector and a secret director of famous TV shows. We will discuss with Mario the intertwining of all these interests and achievements, as well as finding free time.

At the beginning of this interactive lecture, a short trailer will be shown, providing an overview of the artist’s work, created by Veno Mušinović, an actor, filmmaker, editor, and dramaturg.

The lecture will be moderated by Boris Bakal, an actor, theatre and film director, intermedia artist, and leader of Shadow Casters.

Admission to the creative evening is free, and the organizers will ensure strict adherence to all pandemic protection measures during the event.
