CinEd film semester

“CinEd film semester” is a free new program of advanced film education for teachers, professors, and educators in formal and informal education systems, current and future, aimed at those who want to work seriously, creatively, and thoughtfully with children and young people through film and using film. Through a series of lectures by top lecturers, film professionals, and educators, participants have the opportunity to enhance and expand their knowledge of film and learn practically how to use film and media across all school subjects and educational content.

While school curricula include media content, especially film, teachers often lack the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge to confidently teach them. Through CinEd (EU project for media and film training of teachers and literacy of children and young people), we support the modernization of teaching content and tools, as well as methodologies for working with children and young people.

The lectures begin with an introduction to participatory pedagogy by Shadow Casters, where participants will learn methods for interactive and engaging teaching through play. They will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of film theory and explore the CinEd collection of top European films and numerous educational tools it offers. The program concludes with examples of film analysis from multiple perspectives to better prepare participants for their own screenings in schools, workshops, or film and media education programs.

CinEd film semester lectures will take place on the Zoom platform on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM throughout February and March.

The first group of CinEd film semester is fully booked! Due to high demand, we are opening applications for the second group, which will start on February 9 – same excellent lecturers, same days – Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

We have prepared a rich program with many interesting lecturers for you: film actor, director, and educator Boris Bakal, gestalt psychotherapist Pavle Perković, film dramaturge and director Veno Mušinović, director of photography and educator Bojana Burnać, visual arts professor Ivona Marendić, screenwriter and educator Uroš Živanović, film director and educator Marija Georgiev, and film director, actor, and editor Karlo Vorih.
