Psaroloco is a film projection program specifically designed for children and adolescents, with selected films and group workshops where children independently create their own short films (fiction, documentary, stop-motion, etc.). Their goal is to encourage children to think critically through films that provoke thought and to showcase exceptional works by filmmakers from around the world. We are proud that our participants and mentors have created a film that will be shown at such a festival.
The festival journey of this film is diverse. It has been selected for the main international program at the Valparaiso Amateur Film Festival in Valparaiso, Chile (2024), the competition program at Animator FEST – European Youth Festival of Animated Film in Jagodina, Serbia (2023), the competition program at Anim!Arte – International Student Animation Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2023), and the competition program at FIFES Comedy Film Festival in Luka, Croatia (2023).
Moths
The short experimental fiction film “Moths”, created at the masterclass film workshop in Rijeka in the summer of 2022, will be shown in Prague at the A-FilmTeens Festival, held from February 12-23.
The film involved: Borna Janežić, Mia Vukanović, Anja Peloza, Dominik Velčić, and Marul Lerga
Mentor: Dubravka Kurobasa
A-FilmTeens is an international festival for audiovisual works produced by young people aged 6 to 20 from around the world. Their goal is to encourage the youngest generation to think, do meaningful work, develop, and gain new insights and knowledge. Since today’s younger generation is highly literate in information technology, they also aim to foster intergenerational understanding. Through the films they showcase, older generations can better understand today’s youth. We are proud that this festival is a part of the journey for “Moths”.
The film has already been shown at the Lantern & Light International Children’s Film Festival in Melbourne and was awarded the Grand Prix in September 2024. It also won the Best Set Design award at the International Filmska Fronta Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, and was selected for the competition program at the Four Rivers FF in Karlovac.

Their goal is to inspire young people and nurture a new generation of filmmakers and storytellers!
Medusa has also been featured at other film festivals, including the Lantern & Light International Children’s FF in Melbourne, Australia (competition program, 2024), BAMkids Film Festival – Young Filmmakers Showcase in New York, USA (special program, 2024), and Psaroloco International Children’s & Young People’s Film Festivals in Piraeus, Greece (competition program, 2023).
