The Leeds Young Film Festival (LYFF) will take place from April 5th to 21st, featuring a diverse program of family films, creative workshops, and VR experiences. The festival will be held at venues in Leeds and Bradford, including Hyde Park Picture House and Keighley Picture House. Our film “Medusa” will be showcased alongside classics such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Gremlins, as well as new films like Greetings from Mars and The Wild Robot.
We are incredibly proud of our participants and their mentors who created this film during the 2021 Frooom! Animation Workshop for Children and Youth.
Participants: Mirta Baranović, Oskar Bujger, Lena Radošević, Ada Simonetta, Renato Horvat, Jelena Jurić, and Lasta Trupčević.
Mentors: Dea Jagić and Hana Matejašić.
“Medusa” has not only made its way to Leeds, but has also been showcased at other film festivals, including the Lantern & Light International Children’s FF in Melbourne, Australia (Competition Program, 2024), BAMkids Film Festival – Young Filmmakers Showcase in New York, USA (Special Program, 2024), and the Psaroloco International Children’s & Young People’s Film Festivals in Piraeus, Greece (Competition Program, 2023).
At the Leeds Young Film Festival, other award-winning animated films from our school, such as “Dreams Squared”, which was invited to a special international film program in Leeds, and “Just an Ordinary Day”, also had their premieres in 2021.
