Written by Boris on 2019-11-07
With pleasure, we invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Design in the City 1,” which will take place on November 8, 2019, at 6 PM in the underpass near the main entrance to the Zagreb Fair on Dubrovnik Avenue.
The exhibition is held as part of the project Center for Everyday Design, implemented by the Croatian Designers Society in collaboration with partners: the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts, the City of Zagreb, and the association Shadow Casters.
The exhibition will be held from November 8 to 28 at seven locations in public spaces in Zagreb, closely connected to some fragments of the domestic design heritage:
In the windows of unused premises in the underpass near the main entrance to the Zagreb Fair, the topics of book and publication design by Mihajlo Arsovski and a series of didactic and propaganda exhibitions, Family and Household, held between 1957 and 1960 at the Zagreb Fair, will be addressed.
In the Shadow Casters’ Wall Newspapers (Movie-poster displays of the former Kinoteka: Vlaška Street 53, Zvonimirova Street 2, Republic of Austria Street 1, Primorska Street 17, Tratinska 14), a selection of some of the most interesting movie posters designed by Mihajlo Arsovski, Nenad Pepeonik, Mirko Ilić, Dalibor Martinis, and Goran Trbuljak will be presented.
In the window of the Croatian Designers Society, an information board on the topic of the 8th Mediterranean Games held in Split exactly 40 years ago will be displayed, showcasing one of the most complex and interesting examples of visual identities ever, designed by Boris Ljubičić and the Visual Communications Team CIO.
The organization of the exhibition is co-financed within the framework of the Operational Program Efficient Human Resources, from the European Social Fund.
