The educational program “The sky is the limit” is of entertaining, emancipatory, and educational character, offering the generation 54+ the opportunity to enter the world of film beyond standard cinema or TV viewing and creative experience. Participants aged 54 and over will master the art of thinking about film and media from multiple perspectives and discover everything we don’t see while watching movies, TV, or enjoying computer games on our computers, tablets, or “smart” phones. Participants will study new media and explore all the media and content used and enjoyed by their children or grandchildren. Through a layered, dynamic, and interdisciplinary process of getting to know various media and technical aids, participants will have fun, create new acquaintances, collaborations, and business opportunities, share their stories and interests with other participants, and, based on these, with the help of expert leaders, create their authentic film works.
In the advanced level, participants will develop, prepare, produce, perform, film, and initially process (at least) one documentary and one fictional film with the workshop leaders. Throughout the literacy process, our participants will learn that film (and all media creation) is a complex collaborative effort and process involving a large number of skilled people, and through this, they will master strategies of unity, tolerance, and thoroughness. Therefore, participants will become familiar with nearly all professions necessary to successfully realize a film and/or media content and throughout the work process, they will “take on” these roles and become acquainted with their expertise.
