Written by Boris on 2025-04-08
As part of the Conference on Film Literacy, we invite you to the presentation of the program “Functional Film Literacy”, led and presented by Boris Bakal, multimedia artist, director, actor, and president and founder of the association Shadow Casters.
The theme of this conference will be “Functional Film Literacy”, offering insight into the projects developed by the association in recent years. Boris Bakal will also speak about the methodology and philosophy behind the work of Shadow Casters – a collective that has been creating educational, cultural, and artistic projects for over 20 years at the intersection of film, space, community, and interdisciplinary education.
This is an opportunity to learn more about innovative programs such as the FROOOM! film school, The Sky Is the Limit, Whispering Walls, Film Labyrinth, CINED, and Between Heritage and Film, which expand film literacy far beyond the confines of schools and cinemas, transforming it into a tool for understanding the world, space, and society.
The conference will be held at Kaptol Boutique Cinema (dvorana 2) from 10am – 1pm. Admission is free, but registration is required via email at rsvp@havc.hr.
Join us and discover how film can become a medium for lifelong learning, dialogue, and building community.
