Screenings of Original Films* in the “Upside Down Cinema” series at Tuškanac Cinema, March 5th at 11 AM

“Upside Down Cinema” is taking a trip back in time! Join us in this time machine on Saturday, March 5th at 11 AM.
*ORIGINAL FILM presents “best of” early silent films from France & UK (1895-1908).
We will explore technological wonders and cultural prejudices, mental blocks and creative solutions that marked the beginnings of this 127-year-old art form. Why was film initially seen as an invention without a future, and what ultimately secured its future? Why did the first blockbuster have to be filmed twice and in how many copies? Why did early “actors” look at the camera, whereas today they rarely do? How were special effects done without a green screen? … These are just some of the questions we’ll try to unravel by watching classics from the Lumière brothers, Cecil Hepworth, Gaston Velle, Georges Méliès, and others.
Leading this new “Upside Down” gathering is film director Vjeran Vukašinović.
This free club film gathering is intended for all young film enthusiasts aged 12 to 18 ready to watch and study films – all upside down! Visitors aged 16 and older must have Covid certificates for entry. The gathering lasts from 11 AM to 2 PM.
The film club is part of the EU project CinEd 2.0 and is a workshop activity of FROOOM! – film school for children and youth.
