During this five-day workshop, participants will explore the exciting history of animation and animation toys, discovering various techniques and processes that have shaped this art form. Under expert guidance, they will have the opportunity to create their own story, shoot and animate a film, edit it, and prepare it for final post-production (if all stages are not completed within the five days, the project will be prepared for later finishing).

The workshop is designed to offer participants hands-on experience in creating an animated film – from idea to finished product. In this way, they will develop creativity, teamwork, and technical skills, while also gaining insight into the rich tradition of animation as well as modern digital art tools.

About the Workshop Leader – Marino Paliska

Marino Paliska is a visual and multimedia artist, cinematographer, animator, and filmmaker with extensive experience in short film, animation, and motion design. He graduated in film, media arts, and animation from the Arts Academy in Split, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree.

He has worked professionally as a motion designer at Studio Rut, creating promotional animations, 3D scenes, and visual concepts, as well as a cameraman for Mreža TV. His films “Pandula” (2019) and “The Hare and the Rooster” (2023) have been screened and awarded at national festivals, including the Pula Film Festival and KRAF, with “The Hare and the Rooster” being co-financed by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.
