The Sky is the Limit: Film screening at the City Library of Rijeka

We invite you to the film screening of the masters and mistresses of the 54+ generation “The Sky is the Limit” on February 26th at 6 PM at the City Library of Rijeka in “Benčić.”

In the 2023/2024 season, numerous film workshops for retirees were held in Rijeka, Koprivnica, and Zagreb under the name “The Sky is the Limit,” all organized by the Shadow Casters Association with partners and collaborators. The Rijeka workshop took place at the City Library of Rijeka in August 2024.

These workshops resulted in eight fantastic films created through the collective effort of the participants and their mentors. The workshops were led by director Karlo Vorih and director and head of Frooom! Film School, Mia Maros Živković, in November 2023. In 2024, Mia Maros Živković led a workshop for senior citizens in Koprivnica, while director, dramaturg, and filmmaker Veno Mušinović, alongside drama pedagogue and director Alisa Debelić, conducted a workshop in Rijeka in August. In October and November 2024, workshops were held in Zagreb, led by director Paula Skelin, journalist, screenwriter, and producer Velimir Grgić, and director and editor Karlo Vorih.

At this film screening at the City Library of Rijeka, films created during the workshops in Rijeka will be shown, along with two films from other cities.

During these workshops, participants had the opportunity to explore all phases of the filmmaking process, including shooting pictures and sound, learning about directing, scriptwriting, and much more. Through teamwork, they collectively created the final product—a short film that reflects their creativity and filmmaking skills, which we will all witness at this screening. Additionally, we will announce new workshops in Rijeka for 2025.
