“Film Upside Down” invites you to explore directing with a capital ‘D’

Mise-en-scène, blocking, visual signaling – mysterious arts of film direction and storytelling through everything that isn’t the film’s plot. What and how!?
Join us at the new Upside Down Film gathering and find out!
If we’re focusing on what isn’t the plot, then what about the story itself? The film we’ll be watching, Shelter, has a story that will surely divide opinions and sympathies among the audience: twelve-year-old Rado, son of water polo coach Stojčev, is a spirited and newly-minted punk. Mr. Stojčev thinks he’s been a good father and doesn’t understand why his son wants to run away from home with some losers. Losers aren’t losers, punks aren’t punks, maybe the police aren’t the police, and perhaps the parents aren’t quite parents.
However, this provocative comedy from 2010, with its thoughtful framing, will enable us to move beyond the story in our cinematic reflections and discuss directing with a capital ‘D’.
The host of this new Upside Down Film gathering is dramaturge and director Veno Mušinović.
The program continues every first Saturday of the month at Kino Tuškanac, starting earlier at 11 AM from February 5th!
This free film club gathering is intended for all young film enthusiasts aged 12 to 18, ready to watch and study films from a new perspective! Those aged 16 and older must have a Covid certificate for entry. The gathering lasts from 11 AM to 2 PM.
The film club is part of the EU CinEd 2.0 project and is a workshop activity of FROOOM! – a film school for children and youth.
