Can secrets be “kept” in public spaces?
Urban Fragments: Cinematic Offenses in Public Space is a five-day film workshop for young participants, during which they will create short film poems inspired by specific urban locations. These films will then be shared in public space via QR code stickers.

The short film poems, lasting from one to three minutes, are not conventional narrative films but cinematic gestures: tributes to a place, a passerby, a forgotten past, or a future that never happened. Each film will emerge from observation exercises and creative cinematic expression, encouraging participants to perceive the city not as a stage but as a living archive of absence and presence.

The final result will be a temporary public collection of personal film messages waiting to be discovered.

Instructor Biography:
Domenico Centrone is an Italian documentarian, film educator, and multimedia practitioner. After working in the feature film industry in Rome, he shifted his focus to documentary cinema, particularly Cuban documentaries, and earned a degree in Visual Anthropology.

In southern Italy (Bari), he founded Studio Nuvolari, where he works as an independent filmmaker, educator, and researcher of cinematic mutations. His work spans from industrial filmmaking to alternative forms such as art documentaries and essay films, using cinema as a tool for expression, emancipation, and exploring reality. Domenico often explores his immediate surroundings to uncover small, invisible details of everyday life.

He currently lives and works between Bari (IT), Brussels (BE), and Barcelona (ES). This is his second time teaching in Zagreb. His first visit was in 2024, when he led a youth documentary workshop titled Ghost Hunters.

Selected films: Atlas of Memory (2019), Foricampo (2017)

The workshop is organized by the Shadow Casters Association as part of the Frooom! Film School and the CinEd program. It is funded by the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC).
