Sky is the limit – film workshops for seniors in Koprivnica

The Shadow Casters Association is organizing film workshops titled “Only the Sky is Our Limit” for all citizens over the age of 54. We invite you to register now and secure your place.

Location: Public Open University Koprivnica (Starogradska Street 1)

With this project, we aim to contribute to a higher level of media literacy among older adults, to encourage intergenerational connection, and to reduce generational misunderstandings. We also strive to promote the inclusion of older citizens in the active life of the community and to improve their quality of life. Despite their age or retirement status, they can still actively contribute to their own development and the development of their community—especially through media and film literacy.

These workshops are intended for everyone who wants to learn more about film, new media, and what their children or grandchildren are engaged with. It’s also about what often remains hidden when we watch movies, television, or play computer games on PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Of course, we won’t be checking ID cards – we’re happy to welcome participants younger than 54 who wish to learn more about film and media. However, in case of high interest, priority will be given to retirees and unemployed individuals.

All participants will be provided with a free hot meal. You can register via the APPLICATION FORM.

DESCRIPTION

Introductory Workshop
This time, we will be offering only the first level of the workshops. In the introductory workshop, participants will learn about shot types, camera angles, film genres, how to write a script, editing elements, how animated films are made, and how to create a news report. The workshop also offers the chance to explore new media and to experiment with the platforms and content that young people use for fun and expression.

The introductory workshop not only familiarizes participants with media and the basics of filmmaking, but also serves as an introduction to further education in the field.
